Trends That Need To Go Away Already

I’ve attempted a stupid trend before. We all have. Maybe we only attempted it or maybe we carried on for days, months, and weeks thinking we looked decent. We’ve all ventured outside our comfort zone and then, some time later, realized just how wrong said trend was.

Some trends I won’t even approach. There are various reasons why, but most involve my age, sense of style, or demographic. Whether or not you agree, we all have reasons to not attempt something new. I first encountered this when Crocs became a big “thing.”

I never got into the whole Crocs thing. It just wasn’t for me. I’ll wear cheap Old Navy flip flops and Payless Shoes anytime, but something about Crocs rubbed me the wrong way.

The second trend that, while I really wish I could pull it off, I know that it’s impossible, is the peplum top.

I absolutely adore peplum tops, but I know that, given my body shape, it would not be a good outfit choice for me. Peplums, in my humble opinion, accentuate the largest part of my body: the belly and hips. Yet another trend that it just not for me.

The final trend that I’m just done with is the hi-lo dresses. To me it automatically makes a gorgeous dress look tacky. Yes, the back hemline should be slightly longer to accommodate your rump, but having a tail is not an attractive look.

How much better would this dress look if it were of matching length all around? The fact that there is an extra yard of fabric attached to the back does not make said dress look better. It makes it look bigger and bulkier, and who wants that?

What trends are you so “over?” What just isn’t your thing? Share and compare with others!
