ClassyinClass at the Pool: Bathing Suits that Won’t Break the Bank

Finding the perfect swimsuit is nearly impossible. You’ve got to consider cost, style, and body type. Being a mom who is not even close to her pre-baby body, I despise swimsuit shopping. However, with a toddler who loves water, it’s inevitable. So how can you find a suit that offers appropriate coverage, is fashionable, and doesn’t kill your wallet?

Here are some realistic and fun options I’ve found during my own swimsuit search.

Walmart Polka Dot Halter

This Walmart suit is a best seller. I’ve seen it pop up on my Instagram feed through many teacher friends. Not only is it affordable at under $35, it is also a classic fit that will flatter any body type. There are a variety of colors and patterns, but don’t expect to find this popular suit in stores. Order online to ensure you’re getting this great deal.

Beverly Swimwear Darling Dottie

Bev Swimwear has some fantastic modest suits at reasonable prices. You can also custom order a style and print, choose to have cups inserted, and find flattering styles for all body types. I love just browsing this site!

Lime Ricki Swim

You can get lost browsing the Lime Ricki website with all the mixing and matching options. Who wouldn’t love this curve-flattering polka dot and floral one-piece?

JC Penney Arizona Floral

This JC Penney find incorporates a floral pattern and is clearly stylish. Don’t be afraid to wear a suit that looks “young;” if you’ve got it, flaunt it!

Kohl’s Slimming Swimsuit

You don’t have to exclusively shop for cute modest suits online. Your local Kohl’s also has tons of modest and affordable suits in a variety of prints and colors.

One last piece of advice… Don’t be afraid to venture into the junior’s section when searching for suits. Just because it looks “young” on the hanger doesn’t mean it will look inappropriate on you. One piece suits are universally flattering. Fun and flirty prints will make you look stylish, not like you’re trying too hard. Be brave and adventurous!

What suits do you like best? Do you buy a new suit each year? Where do you shop for swimwear?
