My Best Feature: Teacher Style

I have the weirdest hair. Not only is it corkscrew curly, but it is incredibly thin and fine. It makes doing the whole “big southern curls” look impossible.

So, when I do want to achieve big sexy curls, I use this method.

I begin with unwashed and unbrushed hair. When I go to sleep I put my hair in a bun, so the curls are fairly intact except for the crown of my head. I do not brush out the curls. I section my hair into bottom/base, mid section, and the bang/crown area. I then proceed to curl.

I absolutely adore Kate at the small things blog and she lives by Hot Tools. I purchased a one-inch iron and use it to curl into big loose waves. You can watch her YouTube videos for a how-to curl correctly.

I generously spray my hair with Suave mist, tousle, and hit the road. By the end of the day most of the curl has fallen out, but at least I look good for my mirror!

Besides the curly-q’s of my hair, my outfit is also very affordable. It’s a low key day and my last before break so I was sneaking by with the colored denim.

Top: Walmart striped tee
Bottoms: red Rockin’ Republic for Kohl’s
Necklace: Purple Peridot

*not sure why I looked pissed in all the pics!*
