I work in a school that does not allow regularly-scheduled jeans days. I know, it’s preposterous. But apparently, by seeing their teachers in jeans, our students are apt to just become adult degenerates who wear only torn and raggedy jeans. So, really, by rarely ever having a jeans day, we are definitely setting our students up for a lifetime of appropriate professional behavior and success in the work place. Whew… Who knew jeans could be so powerful?!
In my opinion, jeans days should be a regular occurrence in schools. Every day? No. Every Friday? No. But maybe once or twice a month. Not only is it a free and simple way to show the staff that they are valued (here’s a jeans day for all your hard work!), but it allows the staff to show students what appropriate “regular clothes” can look like. But what would I know about it? I’m just a teacher surrounded by 25 qstudents all day. Don’t take my word for it!
