I still religiously use my old faithful products, but with my last batch of samples from Sephora and Birchbox, I have definitely tried and added some new items to my “you gotta use this” list. I haven’t purchased full-sized tubes yet, but pay day is on Tuesday, so…
1. Boscia BB cream, $18
I got this BB cream as a Sephora sample and loved it. It not only moisturizes, it also leaves a subtle color behind, providing a foundation/concealing effect. For only $18, about half what I would pay for Smashbox, it’s a no-brain winner for my new fav face cream.
Another Sephora sample, I apply this translucent setting powder on top of my foundation and concealer. With the Boscia BB cream, my regular Too-Faced blendable foundation, and a touch of concealer and under eye cream, this powder doesn’t add anymore color to my face. It goes on light, does not leave any white residue, and leaves a nice matte finish.
Yes, the name is kind of scary. But for those of us who are mommies, we know that anything to do with your nips is definitely in a league of its own. I sampled this through Birchbox and fell in love. I apply it in the morning before heading out the door into the bitter frozen tundra. I don’t usually need to reapply lip balm again until around 8:30, nearly two hours later. By then I’ve moved on to my EOS ball, which I’m still on the fence about. But nothing gets my lips ready for the cold winter day like Dr. Lipp’s!
4. Curly Sexy Hair Curling Creme , $11.08
You’ll remember that, during the month of January, I reviewed my experience with this hair cream. Aside from the cost, I was smitten. Oh, and I tried hard to find problems and issues with this product, but I just couldn’t. When I was finally out, after squeezing the tube against the counter to get every last bit, I invested in a cheaper, and clearly lesser quality, product. Since then my hair has been limp and stiff. Not cool, cheap product. Not cool. It looks like I’m going to have to bite the bullet and sign up for Amazon’s Subscribe and Save and have this shipped to me on a regular basis. Not only is Amazon much cheaper than local retailers, signing up for the Subscribe and Save actually does get you a small discount. Even better!
